The LMDG are delighted to be staging another of Sam Cree's hilarious comedies. People still talk about our last Sam Cree Comedy, Widow's Paradise which we staged to full houses a few years ago.
'Don't Tell the Wife ' is set in Belfast in the 1960s in the Willis household, where Edna Willis becomes convinced that her plumber husband is becoming interested in another woman. He isn't, but he does have some secrets of his own! Her attempts to stop him lead to hilarious misunderstandings in this classic comedy.
Sam Cree is one of Northern Ireland 's most popular playwrights. Sam Cree's comedies have been produced all over the world. His plan was to get a laugh every three lines and a belly laugh on every page. This is definitely true of this comedy! His characters were memorable - everyone recognises his neighbour in them - never themselves of course!
Cree also wrote for the Carry On films, George Formby and Arthur Askey.
